Observance of the Lord’s Supper this Sunday. Please use this weekend to examine yourself and your relationships with others according to 1 Corinthians 11:27-33, that we may together brightly reflect the unity of the body of Christ when we come together at the Lord’s table this Sunday.

13th Anniversary Church Picnic: THIS Sunday, May 6, at Central Park. Join us as we enjoy a time of fellowship together celebrating our 13th anniversary as a church. We won’t be serving food this time. Bring your picnic lunch and a dessert to share.

May Foundation Verse Children’s Choir: Beginning this Monday, May 7, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., in the Education Building, Room 201. All children are invited to participate in a fun, three week series of choir rehearsals in order to learn and record several Bible verse memory songs written from the DIG Foundation verses. These songs will be sent to Children Desiring God for possible use with their curriculum. You do not need to have attended children’s choir before to join. Questions? Contact Adrian Maddox.

Missions Fundraiser: Our team is raising funds for a mission trip to Eastern Europe this Summer 2018 and they need your help. Show your support by ordering a handsome “No Other Name” soft cotton T-shirt (sizes tend to run slightly small). The deadline for ordering is May 9. (We’ve extended the deadline.) Game Night: Friday, May 11, 6:00 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. Bring your favorite table games or snacks for a game night hosted by the West Care Group. Enjoy the fun, stay as long as you like, and leave when you must. Questions? Contact Gary Trojacek.

Last Day of Discipleship Hour/Summer Break Begins:  Sunday, May 13 is the last day of Discipleship Hour before summer break. Discipleship Hour will resume on August 19.

May Sack Lunch Members Meeting: Sunday, May 20, 12:45 – 2:15 p.m., (or beginning 45 minutes following the close of the worship gathering) in Fellowship Hall. This meeting has been rescheduled to the 3rd Sunday in light of Mother’s Day.

Encouraging Wednesday: Same-Gender Attraction: Walking in Truth and Grace: Wednesday, May 23, 6:30-8:30 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. Ladies, the Women Encouraging Women ministry team invites you to join us in learning more about same-gender attraction and how to encourage sisters who struggle in this area. Bonnie Scasta of Living Hope Ministries will be our guest speaker. Pizza and salad will be provided for dinner. Feel free to bring a dessert to share.

Men’s Retreat: Friday-Saturday, May 25-26. The world can be a confusing place when it comes to manhood, even for Christians. You’re invited to explore this important topic at “Man Alive! Becoming the Man You Were Reborn to Be.” Besides sessions of instruction, testimony, and prayer, you will have the unique opportunity to grow in community and meet new brothers as we fix up a home to use in future ministry. We will meet, stay, and work at Gary Trojacek’s property less than 30 minutes west of the church. Cost: $25. Women’s Summer Bible Study: Mondays, June 18-July 30, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., at the Powell Home (5800 Trail Lake Dr, 76133). Join us as we study Psalms 16, 32, 33, 37, 42, & 43 with Kathleen Nielson’s book Psalms, Songs Along the Way. “Psalms… the well-worn hymnbook and prayer book of generations of those who have put their faith in the one Lord God… a well-traveled and blessed way!” Sign up in The Book Nook by May 20 to order a book. Vacation Bible Camp: Planning is underway! Join the “Vacation Bible Camp 2018” group on The City and/or contact Laura McElroy to help. Save the following dates:

VBC Setup: Wednesday, June 27.

• Vacation Bible Camp: Thursday-Saturday evenings, June 28-30.

• Family Breakfast: Sunday, July 1, before the worship service.

Mission Utah 2018: Possible dates are June 29-July 5. We are considering flying this year to save time on the road. Costs are still to be determined but should be about the same as in previous years. The Manti pageant will not be the focus. Instead, there will be times of sharing in a local park and manning a booth. If you are interested, please contact Gary Trojacek.

Weekly Evans Plaza Outreach: Join us Tuesdays, 7:15 p.m., at Evans Plaza (next door to the Shamblee Branch Public Library – 1062 Evans Ave, 76104) for our time of food distribution and Gospel outreach. This is a weekly event. For more information contact Wes Duggins.
