Observance of the Lord’s Supper this Sunday. Please use this weekend to examine yourself and your relationships with others according to 1 Corinthians 11:27-33, that we may together brightly reflect the unity of the body of Christ when we come together at the Lord’s table this Sunday.

Welcome New Members: May the Lord grant us to walk in close covenant community with Chad & Emily Morgan who were received into membership at the August members’ meeting. A current membership list can be downloaded here.

Discipleship Hour Resumes: Sunday, August 20, 9:15 – 10:15 a.m., in the Education Building. Join us weekly for our Adult Bible Study class (meeting in Fellowship Hall), student ministry class (student ministry room), and DIG children’s ministry classes.

Summer Supper Women’s Fellowship: Wednesday, August 23, 6:30 – 8:30 p.m., in Fellowship Hall. Ladies, bring your supper for a time of fun and fellowship to wrap up the summer. Water and tea will be provided. Hosted by the Women Encouraging Women ministry as part of the Encouraging Wednesdays event series.

Baked Treats Needed for SWBTS Church Fair: Friday, August 25. We need plenty of baked treats to share with students at the upcoming SWBTS Church fair. Please consider providing cookies, brownies, etc. Contact Tyler Cox. If you are a student at SWBTS or The College at Southwestern and are interested in helping represent Redeemer Church at the fair, please contact Tyler CoxSee event here.

Singles Fellowship: Friday, August 25, 6:00 p.m., at the Hare home (308 Cahill Oval, River Oaks, TX 76114). All Redeemer Church singles (college age and up) are invited. Contact: Sheri Hare.

Men’s Breakfast: Saturday, August 26, 8:00-10:00 a.m., in Fellowship Hall. Speaker: Chad Stevens. Topic: “Devotion to the Scriptures in Discipline and Delight” (Psalm 1). Donations to cover the cost of food will be accepted.

Membership Matters New Members Class: Sundays, September 3 – October 8, 9:15-10:15 a.m., in the Education Building. Membership Matters will provide you with information about Redeemer, as well as answer questions about what it means to be a believer in Christ. You will also have an opportunity to learn about how to get involved in our community of faith. Though this course is a prerequisite for membership at Redeemer, anyone can and is encouraged to attend. Sign up on The City.

Fall Children’s Choir: Mondays, 4:00 – 5:00 p.m., beginning September 11, upstairs in the Education Building. Children, ages 5-12, are invited to have fun learning about music while preparing songs for the worship service. We are looking for additional adult volunteers to help out this year. If you’d like to volunteer or have questions about the choir, please contact Adrian Maddox.

Women’s Fall Bible Study: Mondays, 7:00 – 9:00 p.m., September 11 – December 4, in the conference room at Redeemer Church. Ladies, come explore the encouraging vision from Titus 2 using Nancy DeMoss Wolgemuth’s book, “Adorned: Living out the Beauty of the Gospel Together.” We will study one of God’s good and beautiful plans for discipleship — woman to woman, older and younger, side by side, and life to life. Contact Linda Huffman to reserve a book.

Fall Ladies’ Retreat: Friday, October 20, 6:00 p.m. – Saturday, October 21, 8:00 p.m., at Redeemer Church. The theme of our retreat is None Like Him: The God of No Limits. Join us for teaching led by Sylvia Dipnarinesingh and Donna Dean, worshipful music and testimonies, as well as good food, opportunities for small group and one-on-one fellowship, crafts, and other activities. Overnight accommodations will be available in the education building of the church. Registration fee is $45, includes 4 meals, craft activity, and resource book, None Like Him by Jen Wilkin. Place $20 deposit and receive the book immediately.
